The most popular items on our menu for those looking to ease into something new are: Pad Thai noodles (Thai) - this dish is easy to eat and made with your choice of protein. The noodles are flavorful without being too overpowering and it's got shredded carrots and onions for crunch. Lemongrass Skewers or Beef Teriyaki (Thai) - these street eats are our most popular for those trying Asian street food for the first time! The Lemongrass skewers are great if you're a fan of grilled chicken and the beef teriyaki is marinated in a sweet teriyaki sauce. We only use the best cuts of meat. No weird cuts of meat, only quality stuff here. Family-Style Platter (Lao) - our platters are staples in Laotian family dinners. The meats and skewers are meant to be paired with our Jeow dipping sauces and sticky rice, which is rice that's steamed in a basket meant to be eaten with your hands. How long does an order take at Sweet Basil MKE? Wait times average about 20-30 minutes on weekdays, but can increase up to 1 hour or more during popular dining times like weekend dinners! We will always do our best to ensure your order gets done by the quoted time but we appreciate and thank you for your understanding if we take a little longer. We are not a fast food restaurant, we make every order fresh. No food sitting in warmers, no frozen pre-made entrees. Does Sweet Basil MKE deliver? We used to deliver but have temporarily stopped offering delivery services for now. We had a 5 mile radius for delivery, but many orders would be for outside of our delivery zone causing our delivery drivers to be gone for lengthy periods of time and creating delays in other deliveries. Until we can figure out a better way to enforce the delivery zone, we will stick to curbside for now. In the future, we may offer delivery again if conditions are right. Does Sweet Basil MKE partner with third-party delivery services like UberEats, GrubHub, DoorDash, or Postmates? We do not have a partnership with any third-party delivery services. Please contact us directly for orders. We have no control over the prices listed on the menus on those sites or apps and we have no control over how long the food will sit before it gets to you. The best way to get our food at optimal quality is to order directly through us. We have requested the removal of our logo and name from those listings. Does Sweet Basil offer Gluten-Free options? Meet the Sweet Basil family, get to know our team! MEET THE FAMILY Discover the stories and faces behind the food OUR FAMILY & TEAM PEOPLE OVER PROFITS Many businesses leverage people to help them profit. When we opened, we made a pledge to leverage our profits in order to help people. Even if that means we break even. It's worth it for us to take care of our family, our team, our community , and our planet . CHEF VANNA & chef lo aka mom & dad Sweet Basil started as Mom's dream. We saw them working multiple jobs to provide for our family and they weren't happy. We asked Mom what she wanted to do, where her passions were. She told us she would love to own a restaurant one day. We (her kids) took on multiple jobs working at McDonald's, the kiosk at the mall, doing side gigs. We saved, we made it happen and even overcame a pandemic. Over the years, they've given their all into the restaurant and for our customers. Much of Sweet Basil's authenticity and success comes from their dedication and love that they put into the kitchen. Without them this dream wouldn't exist. CUSTOMER CARE TEAM kyle, josie, mimi, derek & drew We treat our customers like family because that's what you are to us.
